Conversation with Speak, Free Music

I had lunch yesterday with an old student, Speak, who makes his music available for free on the web, with no strings attached.  Interestingly, he reminded me that I had told him years ago that music was in a process of decommodification due to mp3 compression.  I gather that that conversation I had with him years ago had something of an effect and he’s certainly done well by it.

So I’m taking my own medicine, and I’ve made all of my recordings available without registration.  As you might imagine, of all of them, I’m most pleased with Adieu, False Heart right now (direct link to mp3 .zip file here), and if I would want anything downloaded, it would be that one.

Enjoy, and be in touch–especially locals so we can get together, have some music, and have fun.
